In December 2024, Jieyang, Guangdong - Huahao New Materials Technology (Guangdong) Co., Ltd. announced that its newly built 2800mm ultra-wide insulating paper production line has officially commenced operations. This production line adopts a fully automated control system and is capable of producing cable paper, heat-resistant paper, and crepe paper with a width of up to 2.8 meters. With an annual production capacity of over 15,000 tons on a single line, it marks a significant breakthrough in China's insulating materials industry in the field of ultra-wide products.

Traditional insulating paper widths are mostly concentrated in the 1-2 meter range. However, as power equipment advances towards high voltage and large capacity, higher requirements are placed on the width and uniformity of insulating materials. The 2800mm production line launched by Huahao has optimized the design of the paper machine headbox and the temperature control system of the drying section, keeping the transverse thickness deviation of the products within ±1%. This significantly improves the wrapping efficiency of transformer windings. Meanwhile, the production line is equipped with an online defect detection system that can identify holes or impurities with a diameter of over 0.5mm in real time, ensuring that every meter of insulating paper complies with the IEC 60641 standard.
According to industry data, China's annual demand for ultra-wide insulating paper is approximately 50,000 tons, with 40% of it relying on imports. The commissioning of Huahao's new production line will not only alleviate the supply-demand imbalance in the market but also offer products at prices 15%-20% lower than those of similar imported products. This has already attracted companies such as TBEA and Siemens Energy to conduct cooperation tests. The company's technical director stated, "In the next three years, we will continue to iterate our processes and expand our product line to a width of 3200mm to cover the needs of ultra-high voltage power transmission equipment."
